Dojang Etiquette: (Twelve Commandments)

 

1.  Please bow as you enter and exit dojang (gym/workout area).

     We bow for respect not worship.

 

2.  No street shoes in workout area-you may wear shoes for working out

     (martial art-wrestling etc).  We want to keep out area clean as possible.

 

3.  No food-chewing gum-sodas in workout area.  Bottle water is ok.

 

4.  If you have a dobok(uniform), and you are a lady, please wear a neck

     high t-shirt under dobok top.

 

5.  If you don’t have a dobok or it is in the laundry, please wear some comfortable

     loose fitting workout clothes-long pants.  No aerobic outfits-spandex-tank  

     tops-or  shorts.  

 

6.  Please wear minimum amount of perfume/cologne and jewelry, especially   

     hand.  Large stones and settings have a tendency to leave unwanted tracks

     on your class partners and  instructors.

 

7.  I really appreciate  short finger and toenails.  It also keeps your partners from

     going  home and having to explain where the scratches came from.(grin)

 

8.  While in class, please address you instructors appropriately as in sir or

     ma'am –honor and respect each other as well!

 

9.  Talking back either verbal or with hand gestures will be grounds for temporary

      Dismissal or Permanent.

 

10. Well groomed and clean personal hygiene is mandatory!

 

11. No sparring outside the supervised ring, before, during and after class.  This

      can lead to injuries  and your dismissal.

 

12.  Train Hard & Pay Attention!  If you want to lay around during class when you

        should be paying attention to the activities, stay home or in chairs. 

        Don’t waist your parents’ money, time or my time.
