Tae Kwon Do

The Art of the  foot and fist-Korean Martial Arts

 Welcome fellow students and parents,

My name is Wayne R. Spencer and I welcome you to the family of  Spencer’s Warrior Club. I am very honored that you have entrusted me to train and teach the Korean art of Tae Kwon Do to your child/children or yourself.  Train hard is the key word that I hope you as a student or parent get from this welcome letter.

Our goals are to teach  not only how to kick, block, punch, and self-defense, but is designed to teach discipline, self-confidence, self-esteem, self-control and leadership.  To build healthy bodies, minds and spirits for all.   TaeKwonDo has tenets that it promotes as well and they are: Courtesy * Integrity * Perseverance * Self-control * Indomitable spirit.  My job is to make you the best Black Belt possible through this training and  this will also make you a better person.

The first few months are the most difficult for all students young and old.  Whenever you attempt to learn something new there are always obstacles and challenges to overcome.  Frustration in ones abilities will try to overtake your reason to continue.  Hollywood and television makes martial arts look so very easy, but what you see on TV takes years of practice and dedication.  However, in just a few months you'll be shocked at the accomplishments one can achieve.  So  give it a few months before you get discouraged and quit.

As beginners, the workouts are adjusted to the age and ability of the students.  However, as you progress in your abilities and rank, so does the workouts and responsibility.  Often students become discouraged because other students are promoted more rapid than themselves.  One should not be concerned about the advancement of you fellow students. Martial Arts is a self-pace program.  Each person has different abilities and attributes.  Concentrate on learning the requirements and techniques for your level and at the very best that you can and the promotions will come.

Feel free to contact me for any questions.  During the day at 334-KICK (5425)  I monitor my e-mail during the day at  kikbut @joimail .com from 0630~3pm.  I also have a web page that I maintain with TKD photos at http:// www. vatkd. com on which as a student you will appear.

 Once again Welcome,
